Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as ‘tapping’ is a form of energy psychology therapy that is effective for getting rid of negative feelings, emotions, providing clarity and managing stress. It collapses negative or self-limiting beliefs that are formed around uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or troubling memories. It helps people to find relief, peace, and promote healing around the issues that are holding them back.
EFT is based on the combination of Ancient Chinese acupressure, Japanese therapies and modern psychology.
EFT to be effective for PTSD and studies have also shown it to be effective in eliminating self-limiting beliefs, anxiety, depression and stress, phobias, addictions, pain and chronic illnesses.
One study found that just one hour-long session of EFT resulted in statistically significant improvements in anxiety and depression and a 24% reduction in the stress hormone cortisol.
Integral Eye Movement Therapy
Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a brief therapy that utilises simple eye movements and questioning techniques to change a particular thought pattern that may be problematic. IEMT techniques help to create change by rapidly reducing unwanted feelings to help you to resolve some emotional issues. Moving our eyes in certain ways appears to connect to the part of the brain that stores our memories and emotions. For reasons that are not fully understood this can lead to a rapid release of emotions bringing about long-term relief.
HOW DOES IT HELP?
IEMT can also show you why you may repeat unwanted behaviour and how to deal with this without the need for digging into the past with lengthy psychological analysis.
Unlike many psychological therapeutic processes, IEMT does not require the client to disclose lots of details about their experience or give details about troublesome events. Disclosure is not required, and the recipient’s issues don't not require an “archaeological" dig into the past.
WHAT CAN IEMT BE USED FOR?
Stress and anxiety
Reducing the impact of negative experiences
Feelings of anger guilt, regret and remorse
Dealing with overwhelm
WHAT DOES AN IEMT SESSION INVOLVE?
An IEMT session involves the practitioner asking some specific directive questions. The client is asked to concentrate on the answers whilst the practitioner instructs the client to move their eyes by pointing and moving their finger or a pen in the directions required. Unlike many psychological therapeutic processes, IEMT does not require you to disclose lots of details about your experience or give details about troublesome events.
