What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) means life force energy and is a form of natural hands-on energy therapy. Reiki is not a religion or a belief system, nor is it a physically invasive or manipulative therapy. It is a completely safe method of working with energy (Qi) that allows the body to rebalance and clear energy blockages leaving the recipient feeling relaxed, healthier and happier. Reiki is a subtle energy that will support and enhance the life-force energy of any living thing.

How does it work?

Reiki treatments can vary. A treatment can be luxuriously relaxing, allowing your body and mind to float off, or it can be powerfully direct to melt away pain and discomfort. The magic of Reiki is that it works on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The energy will be drawn to the area which needs it most, making each treatment different.

Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology is an ancient, natural therapy, which involves the application of gentle finger and thumb pressure techniques on specific reflex points to stimulate the body's detoxification and self-healing process.

The earliest pictorial evidence of reflexology was discovered in the tomb of Ankm'ahor, an Egyptian physician in Saqqara, dated 2330 BC. Native American Indian tribes and Chinese used a version of this foot therapy in the seventeenth century, and continue to do so today. Reflexology as we know it, has been practised in Europe since the early 1960's.

How does it work?

There are points, or reflexes on the feet that relate to the structure of the body, major organs, glands and body systems. Imbalances within the body can be detected and effectively treated to restore balance, well-being and a deep sense of relaxation.
