About the Business

What is Acupressure? Acupressure is a safe and effective way of treating many physiological and emotional problems: from asthma, headaches, back pain, joint problems and skin disorders to anxiety, stress, insomnia and depression. Finger pressure is used on key points on the body to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities.

These acupressure points are the same as those used in acupuncture, but firm finger pressure is used to release the points rather than needles. Using the power and sensitivity of the human hand, acupressure is especially effective in the relief of tension-related ailments, self-treatment, and in preventative health care.

Acupressure is an ancient art of healing developed in China over 5,000 years ago. The Chinese discovered that when certain places in the body were held, not only did the place that was held feel better, but other remote parts of the body also benefited.

Oil Massage with Acupressure

Oil Massage with Acupressure

This is a remedial oil massage that incorporates acupressure points to increase the effectiveness of the massage. Firm pressure is applied to the acupressure points during the massage to relieve muscular tension. Releasing tension around the acupressure points allows energy meridians to flow more smoothly. Soft Tissue Release techniques may also be incorporated into the massage if necessary.

An acu-oil massage is effective on the levels of traditional deep-tissue massage and acupressure healing energy work. There are many advantages of integrating massage therapy with acupressure including a more effective relief from muscular stiffness and tension, pain relief, increased circulation and toxin removal, relieving stress and relaxing both body and mind.

At the end of the massage clients will also be shown some self-acupressure exercises relevant to their condition.
Zen Shiatsu Massage

Zen Shiatsu Massage

Zen Shiatsu is especially suitable for people who suffer from painful muscular tension in their neck, shoulders, back and legs. Direct pressure to those parts of the body releases excess lactic acid that causes muscular problems.

Zen Shiatsu is an integrated style of Shiatsu that uses hands and elbows as well as thumbs to stimulate points and release tension in the neck, shoulders, back, legs, and face. This is great for balancing the body, improving circulation and releasing muscular tension. Shiatsu techniques are designed specifically to stimulate acupressure points and meridians, and thereby benefit the whole body.

The shiatsu massage is received on a mattress on the floor. Please wear loose comfortable clothing for this treatment, and avoid eating a meal 1-2 hours prior to the session.

Jin Shin Acupressure

Jin Shin Acupressure

Jin Shin Acupressure is effective at treating many physiological and emotional problems from asthma, headaches, back pain, joint problems, skin disorders and hormonal imbalances to anxiety, stress, insomnia and depression.

A Jin Shin session is a very relaxing and peaceful experience. Gentle pressure is applied to pressure points on the body, which makes it suitable for everyone and all ages. The clients remain fully clothed for the session, therefore it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing.

The session usually lasts about one hour, although the first session will take longer as the practitioner needs to assess your general state of health in order to identify the underlying patterns of disharmony, and give you the most effective treatment.

During the session at the centre you will be shown some self-acupressure techniques relevant to your condition enabling you to help yourself further.
